Add your items

An item is one piece of your equipment: a med cart, a bed, a lift, a concentrator. Each item gets its own tag, its own tickets, and its own history.

You can add items one at a time, or bring in a whole list from a spreadsheet.

Add one item

  1. Click New at the top of the page and choose Item.

  2. Give it a Name. This is the only field you have to fill in. Pick something staff and techs will recognize, like "Med cart 14, 2nd floor".

  3. Add a Site if you know where it lives, and a Category if you use them. Fill in any extra fields your account has set up.

  4. Click Create.

Adding a batch by hand? Tick Create another before you click Create. The panel stays open and keeps the site and category, so you only retype the name.

If you don't see Item under New, your account doesn't let you add items. Ask an admin.

Import from a spreadsheet

If your equipment already lives in a spreadsheet, save it as a CSV file (File, then Download or Save as, then CSV).

  1. On the Items page, open the ⋯ menu and choose Import.

  2. Drag your file in, or click browse to find it.

  3. Match each column in your file to a field in ServiceTags. Anything you don't need, set to Skip this column. Click Preview.

  4. Check the preview. The button at the bottom shows how many rows will come in, for example Import 48 Items. Click it.

When it finishes, ServiceTags tells you how many rows came in and lists any that didn't, with the reason.

Only admins can import.

Finding your items

The Items page has two tabs.

TabWhat's in it
ActiveItems with a tag on them
UnpairedItems that don't have a tag yet

Everything you add or import starts on Unpaired. It moves to Active once you pair a tag to it.

Use the search box to find an item by name, and the filters to narrow by category, site, or status. Click any row to open the item, where you can see its details, its tickets, and everything that has happened to it.

Changing many items at once

Tick the box on each row you want, or the box at the top to select all of them. A bar appears with Edit, Pair tags, Export, and Delete. Edit lets you set the category, site, or status on all of them in one go, up to 100 items at a time.
