Menus
A menu is the page someone sees after scanning a tag. It's a short list of choices, like Report a problem, Call us, or Order supplies.
Only admins can set up menus.
Create a menu
-
Open Settings, then Menus, and create a menu.
-
On the Menu tab, click Add option for each choice you want.
-
On the Settings tab, choose who it's for and which items it covers (below).
-
Click Publish.
A menu needs at least one option before it can be published.
Kinds of option
| Option | Opens |
|---|---|
| Form | One of your forms. This is how reports become tickets. |
| Website | A link, like a supplies order page |
| Phone | Calls a number you choose |
A form option can show a different form for different kinds of item, using Category-Specific Forms. A cart gets the cart questions, a lift gets the lift questions.
Which tags show which menu
When someone scans a tag, ServiceTags picks the menu like this:
- A published public menu set up for that item's category, if there is one.
- Otherwise, your default menu.
Turn on Use as the default menu in the menu's Settings for the one that should cover everything else. If a tag has no menu to show, staff see Not set up yet.
Who it's for
Under Audience:
| Choice | Who sees it |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone who scans the tag |
| Team only | Your own team, scanning from the ServiceTags app |
Team-only menus can also require a PIN, and can be limited to certain teams.
Display
Under Display, choose whether to show your logo, and whether to Show active tickets. With active tickets showing, staff can see a problem's already been reported before they report it again.
Links without an item
The Links tab makes QR codes that aren't tied to one piece of equipment: one for a front desk, a rep, or a branch office. Each link opens this menu. Use Use a printed tag to turn a spare tag into one.
Preview and unpublish
The share button at the top shows a preview of the menu. Submitting is turned off in the preview, so you can click around safely.
Unpublish this menu, at the bottom of Settings, takes it offline. Tags that used it stop showing it, but it keeps all its options for later.
